Ready for School
We are very much looking forward to welcoming our new Reception children in September 2020.
At this time of year we would usually invite parents and children into school for visits. At the moment, this is not possible so instead we have been preparing different ways to help families and children become familiar with our school.
Miss Gilmore has been telephoning each family to discuss their child’s interests; to find out about any nursery or pre-school setting they have attended and share how we can support the family to make a positive start in September.
Miss Gilmore and Miss Osborne have put together a social story e-book called ‘My School‘ which shows children photographs of their new classroom and the adults that will be looking after them. It describes the different parts of the early years environment to help them become familiar with the setting. Below is also a video of Miss Gilmore reading a story for your child to enjoy.
A letter has been sent to all families with new forms that need completing and returning. Families are asked to make an appointment using the email invitation to come into school to order / buy school uniform from Mrs Pollitt and Mrs Bell.
You may wish to use online educational resources, which you can find in the Children’s class pages.
If you have any questions about your child starting school then please do get in touch by telephone 01457 854473 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have not yet made an application for your child to start in Reception class in September then please see the Admissions page – it’s not too late!
