School Meals

Universal Infant Free School Meals

All pupils in Reception, year 1 and year 2 are offered a universal infant free school meal which is funded by the government.

We encourage families who may be eligible for free school meals when their child reaches juniors (year 3 and above) to still make an application as it may be that school can receive pupil premium funding to support their education. Please use the link below.

Packed Lunch and Snacks

We like the Healthier Lunchbox Ideas from the NHS Change 4 Life

Children in key stage 2 (Valehouse, Derwent and Ladybower) can bring a snack of fruit or vegetable for morning breaktimes. On Mondays there is the option of buying toast from our PTFA. On Fridays, children can bring a treat snack such as crisps.

Children in EYFS and key stage 1 (Kinder and Torside) are provided with a piece of fruit as part of the government Fruit scheme.

Children all need a refillable water bottle as we encourage them to stay hydrated throughout the day. If possible, this should be a separate bottle to the one they use for a packed lunch.
