Great news! All the children are staying with their friends as they move up to the next year group. We are fortunate to be able to continue to offer small class sizes.
Kinder (Reception) – Mrs Fletcher, Miss Osborne, Ms Howard and Mrs Jones
Torside (Year 1 and 2) – Mrs Barry, Mrs Taylor and Mrs Jones
Valehouse (Year 3) – Mrs Thorne-Marsh, Mrs Hall, Mrs Hollingworth and Mrs Taylor
Derwent (Year 4 and 5) – Mr Wilson and Miss Lipowska
Ladybower (Year 5 and 6) – Miss Pasiecznik, Mrs Hollingworth and Mrs Parrett
The children will have the opportunity to visit their new classroom and teachers on Wednesday afternoon this week.
Fond Farewell

Miss Etchells will be leaving us this summer for a new role at a school in Chesterfield. Miss Etchells has been at Saint Mary’s for eleven years starting in Year 1, before moving into Key Stage 2 in recent years. Her calm, caring disposition has resulted in her warm relationships with children. She has led the English subject area through many changes, introducing new approaches, which puts the core subject in a strong position. Her colleagues are very fond of her and will miss her very much but are delighted for her as she takes this next step in her career. On behalf of the governors, staff and children of Saint Mary’s – thank you Miss Etchells for being a brilliant class teacher and good luck. Be sure to come back to see us soon!
Movie Night

Thank you for supporting Movie Night which raised £190 towards subsidising our summer trips. The children had a choice of four films to watch and hot snacks to enjoy. Thank you to the staff who stayed to run the event.
Kinder ‘Come Dine with Me’

Cannon Hall trip for Kinder and Torside
1st July 2024
A couple of reminders ahead of tomorrow’s trip. Children should arrive at school at 8.25am for an early departure. Children should bring a packed lunch with an additional drink unless a school packed lunch has been pre-ordered. The weather forecast is cooler than recent temperatures we have had so children will need a light waterproof coat and should be dressed in school PE kit. The expected return time is 3.30pm. As usual we will keep parents updated of any delays by text message. Please keep the drive area near to school clear for the coach.
